An eye-catching, contemporary villa with direct sea access, carved into the rockface. One of just four villas in a private gated estate, it’s in a location that’s hard to beat. Delightful Agni Bay is only a 15-minute walk (or 3-minute drive) away, where there are some of the most loved waterfront tavernas in the area, a pretty pebble beach and crystal clear waters.
The modern, airy interiors are finished in soothing, calming whites. Splashes of blue in soft furnishings and decorative objects pick up on the colours of the sea views. Accommodation is spread over two floors in the main house, with one bedroom in the guest house. Rooms are big so there’s plenty of living space and room to spread out in comfort. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen room is particularly spacious. It has high vaulted ceilings and huge glass doors opening to the terrace creating a lovely indoor-outdoor living area.
Sea view terraces offer uninterrupted far-reaching views. On the upper level, there’s a dining table to seat eight guests and separate lounging areas with rattan sofas and armchairs. Central to the spacious lower terrace is the inviting 22-metre freshwater infinity pool. There’s lots of space surrounding it for gazing out to sea from the comfort of a sun lounger or enjoying a drink and a good book in a comfy garden chair. Steps lead down to the sea and the jetty from the lower area, so you can take a saltwater swim or hire a boat to explore the coastline and moor it below.
Agni Bay has a couple of excellent tavernas and safe swimming for all ages. If you drive a little further up the coastline, you come to Kalami Bay, where you can visit a restaurant in the famous White House, the former home of Lawrence Durrell. There’s also a Blue Flag beach here with water sports and boat hire available. Nissaki, Krouzeri, and Kaminaki all have pretty pebbly beaches and clear waters that are great for swimming and snorkelling. A selection of water sports is also available at Nissaki and Kaminaki. The little village of Nissaki has a bakery, bars, restaurants and a mini-market.
